LYIT Careers and Postgraduate Studies Fair 2014 – ACCA in Donegal

Yesterday, 20th October 2014, we attended the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (‘LYIT’) Careers and Postgaduate Studies Fair and attended the ACCA Ireland stand to help with any queries from students interested in pursuing the ACCA qualification. The event ran from 12pm-3pm in An Dánlann, LYIT with a great turnout. Other accounting organisations were represented, as well as employers including PWC and BDO.

Helen Foy, Business Development Manager at ACCA Ireland were at hand on the day to provide advice and guidance to the LYIT accounting students, which proved to be very popular for the duration of the event.

What Exemptions are Available From ACCA Exams for LYIT Students?

Most students we spoke to had queries about the exemptions available to them as students of LYIT. This year, students who complete the BBS (Hons) Accounting in LYIT are exempt from sitting the F1, F2, F3 and F4 exams for ACCA. If they pass accredited modules in the degree, they can gain exemptions from the F5, F6, F7, F8 and F9 exams.

To find out exactly what subjects you need to study to gain those exemptions, visit www.accaglobal.com/exemptions

If you have any unusual circumstances which you have any queries on, you should email students@accaglobal.com with your query, and describe your situation. They’ll be able to give you the exact advice you need.

Where to Study ACCA?

Many students wanted to know where they could study for their ACCA exams once they enrol. Chartered Education will be providing online ACCA courses via distance learning for the exams in June 2015. The courses are completely flexible and provide students with the opportunity to study where and when they want rather than having to travel long distances to attend a classroom based lecture. Be sure to contact us with us so you can be the first to know when we launch these courses.

Any Other Questions?

Thanks to everyone who came and spoke to us duing the day. We’re looking forward to attending more of these events and wish all ACCA students the very best of luck in their studies and future careers.

If you have any other questions about how to study ACCA online, please feel free to contact us with any of your queries.
